“Imagine. You walk into an industrial loft. Someone hands you a drink.
Around you: interesting people from Germany and all over the world, wanting to meet you. Acoustic music. A cool DJ. Interactive art installations, looking to be explored by you. Mirrors. Lights. Famous artists, sharing their perspectives exclusively with you. High-end cameras for free rent. Why not take some experimental shots? At the end of the night, you get to keep the memory card.
And more than that. A memory. A thousand impressions. New friends. New perspectives. An evening out of the ordinary.”
Since I happen to be in all those expat groups (I do feel semi-foreign), I got an invite to the gast + freund network for a night at the Photography Playground. The playground is a marketing project of Olympus that I find quite genius. For four weeks, they have installed art in a loft and you can go there and borrow a camera for free and take photos. So that’s what we did! We also tried to meet new inspiring people. That didn’t go too well. 😉
The Photography Playground in downtown Hamburg is still open daily until April 4. It’s free – go and have fun!
